特殊服务 assists patients and families in navigating the health care system. When patients are admitted to the hospital, 特殊服务 provides insurance companies with the clinical information they need, and negotiates the inpatient and skilled hospital days needed for recovery.  特殊服务 work in collaboration with medical providers, 护理与康复, 以及其他保健机构和机构的社会工作者和出院计划人员, 与病人及其家属制订出院计划，并安排病人的出院后护理.

Supporting patients and family in crisis, as well as making sure families have their basic needs met while they are here, is an important part of the hospital's 特殊服务 program. This may include arrangements for:

To help facilitate such arrangements, 特殊服务 maintains a list of community social services, healthcare and legal resources for the community. 特殊服务 is often the intermediary between the hospital and law enforcement.
